Congratulations to Nigel Cole, our Impact Editor of the Month for March 2022! Nigel joined Editors for Impact in December 2021. In his collaboration with our charity partner, AzuKo, Nigel demonstrated his professionalism as a video editor, not only through applying his expertise in editing, but also by communicating effectively with the charity.
Originally from Birmingham, Nigel now lives in Twickenham, South West London, a place blessed with the River Thames and lots of green spaces to walk Freddie, his crazy, seven-month old spaniel. Nigel recently retired after a 40-year career in TV, having worked for major television networks such as BBC, Channel 4 and Sky. He is now actively seeking opportunities to give back to the community through a wide range of activities, such as acting in and directing community theatre projects, doing voice-over gigs, training to become a Samaritans listening volunteer, and of course, volunteering as an Impact Editor at E4I.
During his career in the television industry, Nigel has actively expanded his editing skills to stay competitive as a video editor and began to develop his skills in Final Cut Pro 7 and Adobe Premiere Pro around ten years ago. E4I provided the perfect avenue for Nigel to use his editing skills to benefit others, for example, he helped AzuKo, an architecture design charity, to tell the story of how they donated football kits to underprivileged communities in Bangladesh through a 2-minute video.
Volunteering at E4I has given Nigel, who lives by the motto of “You’re never too old to learn new stuff”, the opportunity to learn more about the missions and values behind charities. He explains that the task of transforming a huge amount of information into an engaging video is challenging but also stimulating and enriching.
E4I would like to thank Nigel once again for his contributions and cannot wait to see what Nigel will be creating for our charity partners in the future!
